Chinese Herbal Medicine | Preparation (Granules)

Dosage:

Dosage with powder is usually between 10 to 15g per day. 5g is approximately equivalent to one heaped teaspoon though there is a a variation depending upon the density and size of the granules. Normally this is resolved though consultation after the first batch of herbs have been taken.

Powders/Granules are dispensed at 140 to 210g for two weeks.

Preparation:

One teaspoon to be taken once/twice/three times a day (as directed).  Mix powder with hot (not boiling) water. Allow to dissolve. Drink whilst warm. Herbs can often be bitter, so you may need to drink quickly.

To be taken 30 minutes before/after food. If you miss food please take herbs.

Adverse reactions to Chinese herbs are extremely rare. However, it is very important that you stop taking the herbal medicine if you feel unwell with following symptoms:
Loss of appetite, tiredness, nausea, diarrhoea, fever or flu like symptoms, joint pains, headaches, yellowing of the eyes, itching, right upper abdominal discomfort. If you have these or any other reaction to the herbs, which concern you, stop taking the herbs and contact me

Stop taking the herbs if you get a cold or flu.Stop taking the herbs during menstruation.

Please inform me if you are taking or start taking any other medication.
Take the herbal medicine at least an hour apart from any other medication.
Do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice whilst you are taking Chinese herbs.
